That’s right, the original Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee was released for Playstation back in 1997. For many of us it lives in our memories via the Playstation’s Demo Disk One, the immortal sounds of “Hello. Follow me. Okay” and “Gettum!” forever etched in our minds.
I may be romanticising things, but in fairness, it was a much loved, trailblazing title. In fact development house Just Add Water even went to the ‘bother’ of remaking the title from the ground up. Oddworld: New ’n’ Tasty is the same old 1997 PSOne game in its bones, but with reworked presentation, modernised camerawork, new voice actors, polished cut-scenes, improved sound, tweaked controls, revamped physics engine and (for the curious subset who enjoy such things) all new leader-boards.
Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty is out now (July 23rd in UK, Europe and Australia) for PS4.
And it encourages you to #beodd.
Coz Abe loves hashtags. I guess…
