Journey was pretty much the perfect indie game when it arrived in 2012, coming from a small developer and using every trick in the videogame book to create a playable work of art which was as noted for its wonderful visuals and themes as it was its actual gameplay.
And it was really, really beautiful...
We've been hearing about a new-gen release of Journey for awhile, with the game upgraded to run at 60 frames per second when it arrives on PS4. And now there's news on a release date, with a couple of Swedish online retailers listing it as arriving on the 4th of June.
This refers to the physical collector's edition of the game which also offers thatgamecompany's previous titles - Flower and Flow - in one package along with a bunch of extras. The package was previously released for PS3 back in 2012 so this new version mainly offers upgraded graphics for PS4 players.
Journey also has a planned digital release so there's a good chance that it will be available on PSN on the same day as a standalone title.
More as we get it.
