In the battle to the top of the gaming charts for Christmas, the annual titanic stuggle between balls and bullets has gone the way of ballistics for 2014.
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare emerged as the UK Christmas number one, pipping FIFA 15 to the post in terms of numbers of sales. Publisher Activision pushed out a major sale in the last week, seeing a rise in interest which helped to push FIFA into second place. Third was the re-issue of Grand Theft Auto V, quite an achievement for an older game.
It's Ubisoft who made the biggest impression though, grabbing positions 4, 5 and 6 for some of their top games of the year. Far Cry 4 well deserves its position and its (surprisingly) followed by Assassin's Creed Unity which had a massive rise in sales during Christmas week, perhaps in the wake of recent patch work. There's also The Crew at 6, benefitting from a large price reduction.
