As opposed to its vaunted predecessor, October’s Batman: Arkham City features a much cried for New Game Plus mode.
Developer Rocksteady Studios has recently confirmed this and via a post from the game’s official forum, we now know the mode will unlock once you complete the game on either the Normal or Hard settings.
Batman don’t do things easy.
New Game + enables us budding Batmen to replay our experience with all the gadgets, XP and upgrades acquired throughout our first playthrough.
But New Game + has more still on its utility belt. Like Demons’ Souls before it, Batman: Arkham City will get progressively harder with your second playthrough. Counter prompts will no longer appear above enemies, foes will be tougher and more resilient, the layout of the Dark Knight’s opposition will change and you have a harder time sending Bosses to the cooler!
New Game Plus will provide the same challenge no matter the difficulty you completed your first playthrough (medium or hard.)
Sharpen your boomerangs and gravel up that voice, Batman: Arkham City is releasing for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC on October 21st 2011
