Batman: Arkham Knight isn't too far away, with the June 23rd release on new-gen and PC looming out of the darkness.
That means we're right in the middle of promo season and with another massive title like The Witcher 3 just released, you can be sure the folks at Warner Bros aren't going to let you forget the Bat is almost back.
To whit, a brand new live action trailer. Which goes like this...
We're not sure where to begin with how odd the concept of this promo is. Are the developers really suggesting we act like Batman in real life? A character who doesn't always have the most measured response to everyday challenges and has massive psychological scars from the death of his parents right in front of his eyes?
Are we also to become the kind of people who walk down dark allies in the middle of the night in the hope of getting into a brawl and becoming... fear? It's all pretty strange but it certainly looks good - that's thanks to co-directed by Tim and Jeff Cronenweth. The latter shot Fight Club, The Social Network and Gone Girl and the former is his... brother.
There's another David Fincher connection on the music side, with a Nine Inch Nails track called The Wretched by Trent Reznor.
It's still weird though.
Batman Arkham Knight is coming to PS4, Xbox One and PC from the 23rd of June 2015.
