Once again PC gamers have been left in the wake of their console playing friends with a long held back port. This time it’s Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed 2, and while the original may have put you off, this is arguably worth the wait.
The more monotonous recon missions are a thing of the past and the game drives itself along at a more enjoyable pace than its predecessor without ever becoming overwhelming. The free climbing system works fantastically well and within no time you’ll be scaling the tallest buildings in Italy without breaking a sweat.
Combat has also been improved, and the storyline is arguably stronger this time around as your character Ezio Auditore da Firenze, with the help of a certain Leonardo Da Vinci, fights to uncover a conspiracy that runs all the way to the top of the Vatican.
An essential purchase for all those who managed to soldier their way through the first game, as well as those new to the series. Roll on Assassin’s Creed 3.
