The artist (game) formerly known as Comet has a new name, and that name is Rogue.
Because Ubisoft is the kind of company that thinks releasing their first next gen exclusive title is a mere trifle, they've also been whispering about another Assassin's Creed title this year. So the PS4 and Xbox One sorts will get Unity, set in Revolutionary France. And those who still favour the PS3 and Xbox 360 will get an all new game called Rogue.
Details of the game are very scarce, with the title only just appearing via a leak, giving us a glimpse at the cover of the game. There's a boat there - so we might get to sail the seas once more - and a new character. Eurogamer also has a strange off screen trailer thing which doesn't give us much more to go on.
It's generous of Ubi to give current and next gen users the chance to still gain access to an AC title every year, though you can't suggest that money isn't a factor. We've had a double year before, when Liberation and AC3 game out concurrently and at least 1.5 of those games were pretty dull. So hopefully that doesn't happen again in 2014.
Assassin's Creed Rogue is currently confirmed for a November 11th 2014 release date on Xbox 360. Expect a confirmation of it coming to PS3 soon.
