BBC iPlayer will arrive on Xbox One by the end of the year
The BBC iPlayer will launch on Xbox One consoles by the end of this year, according to executive product manager Marcus Parnwell.

Writing on the official BBC Blog, Parnwell confirmed that the on-demand service will be available to Xbox One owners in the near future. The comment was included as part of a blog post regarding the iPlayer for connected TVs in response to a question from someone looking for updates.

This is a long-awaited release for Xbox One owners as the service has been available on PlayStation 4 since its launch in November last year. But as it currently stands, we only know a vague release window rather than anything more concrete. Even at that, Parnwell wrote that the team is “aiming” to launch the BBC iPlayer by the end of the year.

It may be wise to stem your enthusiasm for the time being until we know something more specific.
