Unsurprisingly, there’s a new Call of Duty game coming out this year. Rumour has it that the next in the series will be a Black Ops game. And an Easter egg added to Black Ops 2 adds weight to that rumour.
Call of Duty streamer Drift0r was playing Black Ops 2 after it received a small, mysterious update. He stumbled upon ads within the game featuring Snapchat’s iconic logo and what looks like a QR code. This stamp, when scanned, allows players to add the Call of Duty Snapchat profile as a friend.
When you add it as a friend, you get sent a snap. It’s a pretty short video, but it subtly references brainwashing or hypnosis. Fans of Black Ops should recall that played a fairly significant part in the original’s story.
The update rolled out on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, but not on PC. Still, with E3 and other gaming conferences right around the corner, it may be worth keeping an eye out for Snapchat’s ghost and contact codes.
