CD Projekt Red clamping down on leaked Witcher 3 footage

The Witcher 3 developer CD Projekt Red has been trying to scrub the internet of leaked footage after a retailer sold the game a week early.

A retailer in the United Arab Emirates jumped the gun and put the game on sale over the weekend. The Witcher 3 is scheduled for release on May 19th.

One player streamed footage from the game on Twitch. Twitch has since warned users not to broadcast anything before The Witcher 3’s official release date.

Others have been uploading gameplay content on YouTube. Game On currently has footage available, but it’s likely to disappear soon, so watch while you can.

CD Projekt Red is also locking threads on its forums that discuss the leak. The developer is hoping to stem the tide of spoilers.

"Please, don't discuss the contents of any leaked information you may find," a moderator wrote. "If you see anyone posting information from the leak on the forum, remember to use the Report Post button and let us know."

The Witcher 3 will be released on May 19th.
