Batman: Arkham Origins was pants.
Its distinguishing features amounted to
A) It was set at Christmas
B) The dude playing the Joker did a fairly righteous job.
It’s inevitable expansion pack, following on a full-half year after the main release, once again shamelessly lifts a villain Rocksteady already made pop, this time Mr Freeze and sets it at the next logical public holiday – New Year’s Eve.
Anyway, Mr Freeze acts as the perfect excuse to throw caution to the wind and drop auld Brucie into a walking furnace, the XE Batsuit. This way he can TEMPERATURE his way to victory.
Admittedly, it’s a big step from the pseudo-almost-kinda-sorta realism the initial Rocksteady titles aimed for. But this can only work to its advantage, especially given Warner Bros Games Montreal have already proved they don’t have a handle on cloning Rocksteady.
Go do your own thing, guys. How bad could it be?
Batman: Arkham Origins – Cold, Cold Heart released on April 22nd for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
