Capcom has announced two features that will become available to players once they complete the main campaigns of
Resident Evil 6. For those who wish to continue to learn about the Resident Evil universe offline, Ada Wong’s campaign trail will be playable once players have completed the campaigns of Leon, Chris and Jake. Wong’s campaign features unique missions and will provide her perspective on the bioterrorist outbreaks that threaten to wipe out the world’s population.
If you want to turn the tables and become a zombie, you don’t have to put your life in danger or develop a taste in brains to do so. Upon completing the main campaign for Leon, Chris or Jake, players will unlock the
Agent Hunt mode for that segment. This online mode allows players to invade other players’ sessions with the aim of eliminating the human characters. As a hunter, players will have access to the unique movements and attacks of each enemy.
The Agent Hunt mode is optional. Players can deselect the option to allow others to infiltrate their game. So, if online warriors are causing you issues, you will be able to deny them access and go back to stomping AI enemies. This mode is also restricted based on the campaigns and levels that a player has completed; they will not be able to join a level further than they have played. In addition, this mode is only available on certain stages.
The agent side can be either a single human player with an AI partner, or two human players in co-op mode. Up to two separate hunters can join an Agent Hunt session. When a hunter dies they respawn in the same session as a different random enemy from that area. If they successfully kill the agent, players will be taken to a ‘hunt successful’ results screen where they can join another session if they wish. The agents will simply see a kill screen as if they were playing with AI enemies.
Resident Evil 6 will break out worldwide on October 2nd on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. A release is planned for PC players, but at a later date.
