Dawn Breaks for Child of Light on Vita

Dawn Breaks for Child of Light on Vita
Well Received Ubi Indie released on Sony’s Handheld

Child of Light is almost excellent. Wonderful watercolour presentation. Haunting, subtle soundtrack. Deep crafting system. Unique, tactical turn based combat. But most of all a deep seated earnest that’s absence in so many grander titles.

Sadly their insistence on attempting to (and regularly failing to) employ a storybook rhyming stanza was a source of constant disappointment, if not outright annoyance toward the endgame. Daniel was a little more tolerant of it in his review, right here! And still, regardless of my petty frustrations, I still reckoned Child of Light was one of the defining titles of April 2014.

And now it’s available for download and purchase on the PlayStation Vita. It should set you back about €14.99, It’s worth it.
