Ok, so Dark Souls
is no small game.
So large, in fact, is the undead world of Lordan that at about the halfway mark, the series of interlocking bonfire respites became portal, instantaneously transmitting weary players to certain key locations. In a recent interview with Dark Souls II director, Tanimura San
, we put the following question to him...“The bonfire network was one of the defining features of Dark Souls however it only opened up about half way through the game. Will Dark Souls II make players wait for fast travel like its predecessor?”
His response shed some light on the sense of freedom and open world exploration Dark Souls II
hopes to offer...“This time, the bonfire network will be accessible from the beginning. The search with higher freedom from the beginning will be possible.”Dark Souls II
is due in 2014 for PC, PS3
and Xbox 360.
