Hardly doing its part to stem the tide of ultraviolence at E3 2012,
Bethesda’s Steam Punk Murder’Em Up grants us an extended look at its alluring gameplay.
A Neo-Victorian amalgamation of
Bioshock and
Assassin’s Creed,
Dishonored offers some deft touches to distinguish itself from the swelling brand of murder-sims of late.
Despite its unimpressive technical presentation, the art design is a breath of fresh air in an industry saturated by military camouflage and armoured tanks. Similarly its tone hints at airs of the supernatural which mesh joyously with the Steampunk aesthetic.
Finally, an array of non traditional distractions and utilities (hordes of scrambling rats!) mark
Dishonoured as a silent, if heavy, hitter this October.
