The upcoming first-person action game from
Arkane Studios,
Dishonored, will feature a star-studded cast that includes a range of award winning actors. The list includes the likes of
Susan Sarandon who will make her videogame debut, and
Michael Madsen who has voiced characters before, including Tanner from
Driv3r and Toni Cipriani from
Grand Theft Auto III. They join
Billy Lush, who will provide the voice of The Outsider, an ambiguous being described as part angel and part devil.
President of Arkane Studios, Raphaël Colantonio, said that these additions make Dishonored’s characters feel even more deep and credible. Colantonio added, “Having such talented actors voice Dishonored's compelling cast of characters adds a rich, powerful element to the game. We want to draw people into this virtual world and make it feel real.” Composer Daniel Licht (Dexter) has also been brought on board to supply the game’s original score.
The cast and roles have been outlined as follows:
Susan Sarandon (Thelma & Louise, Dead Man Walking) will play the former aristocrat, Granny Rags – an intriguing old blind woman now deranged after years of street life.
Brad Dourif (The Lord of the Rings trilogy) takes on the role of the inventor Piero, creator of the iconic mask worn by Corvo as well as a wealth of gadgets Corvo can use.
Carrie Fisher (Original Star Wars trilogy) can be heard broadcasting government propaganda over loudspeakers throughout the city of Dunwall, where the game is set.
John Slattery (Mad Men, The Adjustment Bureau) takes on the role of Admiral Havelock, a Loyalist who helps Corvo on his quest.
Michael Madsen (Reservoir Dogs, Kill Bill) takes on the role of Daud, a mysterious assassin.
Chloë Grace Moretz (Kick-Ass, Hugo) portrays Young Lady Emily, the Empress’ daughter who is kidnapped after her mother’s death.
Lena Headey (300, Game of Thrones, Dredd 3D) will mind Young Lady Emily as Calista.
The game will put players in control of Corvo Atano, a former legendary bodyguard to the Empress who is well trained in the arts of swordplay and firearms, but also possesses supernatural power. After being framed for the assassination of the Empress, he seeks revenge against Lord Regent. Dishonored is set for release in North American on October 9th in Europe on October 12th on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
