Just like the Mega Drive Collection, the Dreamcast Collection suffers from being vastly lacking in games. Given the fact that these titles came on CD, and that few of them used even close to the 700MB available, to give us a paltry four titles in this package is nothing short of scandalous.
XBox 360, PC
Worse still is the fact that only Sonic Adventure and Crazy Taxi are considered classics, with baffled looks all around the office when we discovered that the other titles included were Sega Bass Fishing and Space Channel 5 Part 2. Where the hell are the rest of the games?!
Despite our disappointment, we were nevertheless buoyed by the prospect of playing Sonic and Crazy Taxi again, and they still stand up today, offering rich gameplay and fun by the bucket load. Space Channel 5 Part 2 took us a little by surprise, having not played it first time around, and we lost quite a few hours to its rhythm based shenanigans. Unfortunately Sega Bass Fishing still did nothing for us, despite our advancing years (I thought fishing was supposed to get more fun as you got older?).
All in all this reeks of missed opportunity, which is a bit of a disappointment. You’re better off just downloading Sonic and Crazy Taxi from Xbox Live or Steam.
