Paul Rustchynsky says forthcoming racer will be microtransaction free...

Paul Rustchynsky, creative director of Driveclub at Evolution Studios, has gone on record to confirm that the game won't feature microtransactions, which will trigger a collective sigh of relief among gamers everywhere.

For the last few years, we've seen microtransactions creeping into the racing genre to become far more prominent than ever, and many had assumed that the delayed PlayStation 4 exclusive would suffer a similar fate to last year's Xbox One launch title Forza Motorsport 5, claimed by many to be the worst example of in-game payment implementation.

In an exchange with Twitter users @PGDarkLordMalik, who toldRustchynsky that they hoped "Driveclub is free of such Microstransactions", the developer's reply was short and sweet, simply saying "Absolutely."

Driveclub was initially planned as a PlayStation 4 launch title, however it has suffered several delays and is currently listed as TBA 2014 in Sony's official release schedule, with many speculating that the delay has been in order to add functionality for Sony's forthcoming VR headset, Project Morpheus.
