EA to clamp down on Ultimate Team coin sellers
The fight rumbles on...
EA will continue its fight against Ultimate Team coin sellers in FIFA 14 according to Ultimate Team producer, Marcel Kuhn. He expects the practice to slow down “drastically” with the release of FIFA 14 as the team cracks down hard on whatever they can. EA will continue to improve its security because “they have found certain ways to get to those coins and we have to stop them.” Kuhn added, “We have to save our game essentially against these guys.”

However, he explained, “it’s kind of a tough mission.” He said that coin sellers are not bound by the legal system whereas EA is somewhat confined with regards to how it catches these players. EA is currently working with eBay to remove coin sellers from the online marketplace and will continue to do so in the future.

We posed the question to Kuhn as companies such as Blizzard and Valve have started to allow players to resell in-game and other items. However, EA has no plans to follow suit and make the coin-selling side of Ultimate Team a legitimate practice.
