In the wake of Capcom abandoning the PlayStation IV version of Ultra Street Fighter IV for its own Pro Tour events, the organisers of Evo 2015 have said that it will use the Xbox 360 version of the game.
Evo’s Joey Cuellar announced on Twitter that it was decided to feature the Xbox 360 edition of Ultra Street Fighter IV. He wrote, “We are happy to announce that the Ultra SF4 tournament at Evo 2015 will be played on XBOX 360! #Evo2015.”
Even if the PlayStation IV version is patched in time, Evo plans to stick with what it knows. There will be no more changes to the plan, Cuellar revealed.
Ultra Street Fighter IV has been plagued with issues since its launch on PlayStation 4. Players have experienced visual and audio issues, as well as input lag.
Capcom and Sony are currently looking into the issues affecting the port. But even if they release patches before Evo (July 17-19), it will be too little too late.
