The first gameplay trailer has been released from the upcoming
Battlefield 3 expansion,
Armored Kill, which is due out in September. The expansion includes four new maps, five new assignments and five new vehicle types, including ATVs, mobile artillery and tanks. A new mode called
Tank Superiority has also been added, which will see players battling it out in heavy vehicles to control key areas of the map. The trailer shows off two of the new regions: the Bandar Desert, which is set to be the largest Battlefield map ever, and the snow-capped Alborz Mountain.
Battlefield 3 Premium members will be able to get access to Armored Kill two weeks before regular players. Players who have purchased Battlefield 3 Premium will also be able to get early access to
Battlefield 3: Aftermath, which is due out in December, and
Battlefield: End Game, which comes out in March 2013.
Despite the early announcement of Battlefield 4, DICE has promised fans that there is still plenty in store from this instalment in the series.
