F1 2012 lines up September release
F1 2012 will be released on September 21st in Europe, and we'll have to assume September 18th in North America, according to a newly released developer diary from Codemasters. The video features thoughts from members of the development team along with a first glance at gameplay. The team feels that it has “got to the heart of the sport”. Creative Director, Stephen Hood, said that the aim of the game is to make it “more of a complete F1 experience.”

The career mode begins with a Young Driver Test, which will allow players to get to grips with the game and test out their skills in a Red Bull, Ferrari or McClaren. No pressure, but you’ll want to make a first impression. After all, a first impression can be a lasting impression. The team is aiming to bring the experience of the living room to the game with commentary and tips from Anthony Davidson. The Hot Lap videos show you exactly what you need to understand about the circuit and inform you of the key corners.

F1 2012 will utilise the rewind feature to allow players to correct their errors rather than having to restart the race again. Tactics, strategies and weather conditions will also all come into play over the course of the weekend. You could earn a reputation like Jenson Button of being on the right tyre at the right time, or you could be heading towards a barrier if caught on dry tyres on a soaking wet track.

F1 2012 will be released in September on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
