FIFA 17's single player takes on a dramatic new look

Some say that FIFA never changes year after year, but this year’s inclusion of a ‘Story Mode’ means that there is one drastic new addition that nobody can diminish.

FIFA 17’s story mode is called “The Journey” and sees you develop a footballer’s career on and off the pitch. The trailer sees the up-and-comer sign for Manchester United, enjoy a wonderful debut, but then face a tumultuous time where his position at the club is at stake.

While Hunter, the player that you’ll control, signs for United, you will have the option to play at other Premier League clubs.

This addition is reminiscent of NBA 2K16’s story mode, which had the input of Spike Lee. It’s a big call, but if EA pulls it off it could provide players with a whole new way to enjoy the game.
