Being involved in the PlayStation Plus programme can be a strange thing. While its essential if you're into online play you're also supposed to have the added incentive of free games every month. Unfortunately they tend to be pretty obscure or old or both.
For September things aren't changing much, but at least the quality is quite high. PS4 folks are getting Journey (the remastered version) and Lords of the Fallen, PS3 players net Prince of Persia The Forgotten Sands and Datura and Viva types will be able to play Amnesia: Memories.
All three platforms get the previously smartphone only Badland, which is a pretty neat game about flinging a tiny cloud thing through horrible traps.
So there's nothing terribly new here and Journey has already appeared for free, not to mention the fact that Lords of the Fallen was on Xbox Live Gold months back. Still this is what you're getting from the 6th of September, 2016.
