Halo The Master Chief Collection was an incredible compendium of first person action and an amazing way to witness the evolution of the console FPS but it was also just a little bit broken.
More than that, many people found the multiplayer completely borked when they loaded up their disks earlier in the year. Microsoft and developers 343 Industries have been very apologetic about it, keeping players in the loop as they work on fixing matchmaking and more. And now they're making good on that with a free gift.
In 2015, anyone who played The Master Chief Collection before Christmas will receive a free copy of Halo 3: ODST - which is currently being upgraded to 1080p and 60 frames per second. For those who don't know, ODST was originally released in 2009 and let you play as a non Master Chief character for the first time. It's got a great, almost detective-story like quality and a unique atmosphere and well worth including as part of the collection.
Also, it totally has a proper Nathan Fillion in it.
It's not likely that ODST will be getting the same level of spit and polish which we've seen applied to Halo 1 and 2 but smoother graphics will certainlymake a difference. And, NATHAN FILLION!
There's no confirmed release date for Halo 3: ODST Remastered but it will arrive in 2015 and will also be available as DLC. More as we get it.
