Games of June 2015 preview

There’s no summer drought in sight this year. While this month’s E3 will bring news of some of the most exciting games on the horizon, we’ll have more than enough to keep us entertained this month. Here are just some of the titles competing for your attention and time.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited

Release Date: June 9th, 2015

Available On: PlayStation 4 and Xbox One

Elder Scrolls fans have sunk countless hours into single player adventures set on the continent of Tamriel. Now they can share their story with friends. The Elder Scrolls online features a storyline indirectly connected with the other games in the series.

There are two separate conflicts progressing at the same time. One has the fate of the world in the balance, while the other prize is supreme power on Tamriel. The MMO includes everything from the original PC, along with a range of updates like the Champion System and the ability to murder, steal and burgle. Plus, there’s a new Collections Window to track your mounts, pets and costumes.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited won’t require a monthly subscription fee. The MMO business is changing!

LEGO Jurassic World

Release Date: June 12th, 2015

Available On: PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U, Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation Vita

At this stage, we all know what to expect from a LEGO game. It’ll be fun, there’ll be plenty to do, and it’ll be suitable for players young and young at heart. LEGO Jurassic World will be released alongside the Jurassic World movie.

LEGO Jurassic World will follow the plots of all four Jurassic Park films. There are 20 levels to explore, five based on each film. We’re a little surprised the game isn’t skewed more towards Jurassic World. It will give players a choice of more than 100 playable characters, including a variety of dinosaurs and Mr. DNA, the cartoon character from the first film.

As you’d expect, LEGO Jurassic World will feature a two-player cooperation mode. It should keep players of all ages occupied for hours.

Batman: Arkham Knight

Release Date: June 23rd, 2015

Available On: PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One

It’s time to complete the trilogy. Rocksteady Studios promises to bring players to some dark places as Batman attempts to put an end to Scarecrow’s attacks on Gotham City and fend off attacks from Gotham’s most notorious criminals.

There are a few notable additions to the upcoming games. We’ll get to play around with the Batmobile with some cool entry and exit animations. And Batman: Arkham night also adds the ability to team up with allies. The game introduces "Dual Play," which lets players switch between Batman and a friend in Free Flow Combat. There are even double-team takedowns for experts of Batman’s combat.

Once again, there will be plenty of optional Riddler challenges, 243 to be precise, to solve. Players won’t be bored anyways!

Batman: Arkham Knight promises to be an enthralling conclusion to the story that Rocksteady Studios started five years ago.
