Gears of War 4 was one of the focal points of Microsoft's E3 briefing this year with voice actor Laura Bailey joining The Coalition head Rod Fergusson on stage to showcase the campaign in action.
As you'd expect, it's full of cheesy dialogue, over-the-top set pieces, and plenty of gore. The two brave a beautiful and deadly sandstorm as they work their way through the swarm in a bid to rescue Kait's mother, Reyna. Certain sections require players to work together as they rain hellfire down upon a turret.
We get to see some new weapons and toys in action, as well as the new baddies that will be mown down throughout the campaign. And there's a surprise at the end.
Microsoft also announced a special Gears of War edition of the Xbox Elite Controller. It features a gritty, blood-soaked colour scheme, a D-pad that shows the weapons you'll be selecting, and the iconic Gears logo. It's a beauty.
Gears of War 4, and the Elite controller, will be available from October 11.
