It seems like we're just in the middle of a deulge of sales for Christmas, and that's no bad thing.

The latest sees the return of Sony PlayStation's 12 Deals of Christmas, with a new special offer every 48 hours from now until the big day itself. And they're kicking things off with a huge discount on one of the biggest games of the year.

Right now you can get Metal Gear Solid The Phantom Pain for half price on PS4 or PS3. That's a pretty great offer, especially considering how popular the game is and the fact that it only released a few months back. This is definitely one to look out for if you're into open world action, where pretty much anything can happen, and it's a must play for fans of the series who want to see the Metal Gear swansong of creator Hideo Kojima.

Check out the specific pricing and links below:

PS4 - €34.99
PS3 - €29.99

There will also be offers running throughout the month on a selection of back catalogue titles which will be €15 or less. This might be a good way to stop up on classics to play when the conversation wanes around the dinner table and you're just not that interested in what happens in Downton Abbey. They're all PS3 or Vita titles and you might be able to find a few worth picking up if you dig into the huge list over on the PlayStation Blog.

We're going to recommend the Ratchet and Clank Trilogy for 15 quid or the first three Prince of Persia games for under a tenner.

A new main deal will come online at midnight on the 3rd of December, so stay tuned for that.
