The Vanguard Entertainment and 343 Industries developed top-down twin-stick shooter Halo: Spartan Assault, has been confirmed to be on its way to Steam next week. Launching on April 4th, the game will cost a very reasonable $4.99 on the service, making it a worthwhile purchase for those of you looking for something a little bit different within the Halo universe.
Windows 8 and Windows Phone users can also look forward to treating themselves to the game, as it's being reduced to just $1.99 between April 3rd and 9th, after which time it'll get a permanent price reduction to $4.99 - putting it on a par with the Steam cost.
If you're not familiar with Spartan Assault, it takes place in the events between Halo 3 and Halo 4, letting players find out some of the Spartan Ops back story over 30 individual campaign missions and weekly XP challenges. It's a very different Halo experience, but it'll definitely provide some entertainment for fans of the twin-stick shooter genre.
