Here are PES 2017's wacky unlicensed team names

PES 2017 has secured some key partnerships with FC Barcelona, Liverpool, and Borussia Dortmund, but it doesn't have league licenses. Here are what PES 2017 will call some of its teams in the Premier, err...English League and Spanish League this year.

Manchester United is now the official partner of EA and FIFA, meaning its relegated to Man Red again this year in PES. Meanwhile, last year's winners, Leicester, go by East Midlands. That's one way to fly under the radar.

The Spanish League takes a more unusual tact with teams, aside from FC Barcelona and Athletico Madrid named after mixes of colours. That's sure to get confusing when someone wears their alternative kit. We can't wait until GA Blue White play CT Blue White; that's sure to be a rivalry that will go down in history.

Of course, PES 2017 comes with an editor that lets you change team names. The community also tends to take it upon itself to release option files with authentic names.

PES 2017 will be released on September 15. Meanwhile, there's a demo coming out on August 23.
