The Xbox One hasn't had the best time of it since launch, with relatively low sales figures and consistently lower game resolutions than on the PS4.
Well that's not going to be a problem for Destiny, the upcoming spectacular shooter from Halo creators Bungie. While the currently running Beta might not hit the highest resolution on Xbox One, the final product surely will.
As proof, IGN sat with Bungie graphics engineer Chris Tchou to get the first footage of 1080p Destiny on the Xbox One. And it certainly looks silky smooth in motion, which you would expect from a multi-million dollar game in 2014.
This means there's going to be graphical parity between the PS4 and Xbox One versions, with suggestions that the PS3 version at least runs quite smoothly while looking a bit less detailed. We've been playing the beta for couple of days on PS3 and the only real down-side so far is that the frame rate feels a little curtailed.
In terms of gameplay, we're not so convinced just yet. It's feeling a little generic as a shooter, with RPG elements that feel tacked on and a fairly generic sci-fi story. Let's hope the final product is a bit more impressive.
Destiny comes to Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3 and PS4 on September 9th 2014.
