Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain is finally coming out this September and as well as a ludicrous collector's set there's also going to be a limited edition PS4 console released to celebrate.
The look of the console was revealed earlier in the week but now MGS director Hideo Kojima himself has been spending some time with the unit and giving us a better look at how slick it is. The colours are designed to match Venom's biotic arm which you'll weild to deadly effect in the game and true fans will also want to get the collector's set which includes a scale model of the arm. Kojima brought along a full size version of Venom's arm which can hold a PS4 controller perfectly! You can see the smaller arm here as well.
The controller is also unique, sporting decals on the d-pad and an embossed image on the handrests.Kojima was also asking for people to give their naming suggestions for the console, which should lead to some interesting suggestions.
Right now, this version of the PS4 is said to be exclusive to Japan and there's no confirmed release date or price. There are rumours that the console could be released in the rest of the world, provided there is enough demand. Which I suspect there will be. Here's a video of Kojima messing around near the console and collector's edition content. There are no subs.
Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain is coming to PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC from the 1st of September 2015.
