Colloquialism would have you believe that you can indeed have too much of a good thing.
Hotline Miami, for all its gore, was a very, very good thing.
It was also, lamentably, too short.
I did not feel I was exposed to too much Hotline Miami.
Hence – Hotline Miami 2.
This very, extremely, super extended gameplay demo of Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number doesn’t mess with a winning formula. Sure there are a few minor additions, a couple of much needed tweaks. But on the whole it’s the same twitch based puzzle-game-disguised-as-an-action-game you craved more of since the moment you finished the first one.
It’s still batty.
It’s still gory.
It’s still speedy and expertly designed and supremely challenging.
Normally I have less tolerance for ‘more of the same’ sequels. But in this instance, considering the inimitability of its predecessor, and the careful eye turned to minor mods rather than systemic overhauls, I am on board for Hotline Miami 2, wrong number or no!
Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number is available in Q3 2014 for PC, PS3, PS4 and Vita.
