The Gears of War series has been back in the news recently for a gorgeous remaster of the original Xbox hit on Xbox One and PC, and that's set to keep the series in the minds of the public as the marketing ramps up for an all new entry due later in 2016.
Gears of War 4 is currently set to arrive before Christmas and will include new playable characters in a story set 25 years after GoW3. That's still a good bit away, but it looks like we'll be getting a taste a whole lot sooner. April will see the arrival of a beta for the multiplayer aspect of Gears of War 4 and there will be multiple ways to get in.
Firstly, anyone who played Gears of War Ultimate Edition on Xbox One or PC will automatically get an invite to the closed beta on the 18th of April, exclusively on Xbox One. After that, a full open beta will follow on the 25th of April for anyone on Xbox Live, and it all comes to a close on the 1st of May 2016.
That's a long time for a beta, and you can be sure that the Coalition will be throwing out new game modes and maps to test the game as much as possible.
