Sucker Punch Productions, the video game studio behind titles like Sly Cooper and inFAMOUS has confirmed that they're letting staff go.
Following a tweet from Ben Nicholas of 343 IndustriesSony PlayStation (who own the studio) confirmed toIGN that lay-offs were taking place:
"SCEA can confirm a reduction in workforce has taken place at Sucker Punch Productions. Sucker Punch is appreciative of the tremendous work team members contributed to the inFAMOUS and Sly Cooper series, and wishes them the best in their next endeavors."
For a company with such strong ties to PlayStation with the inFAMOUS games acting as heralds of both the PS3 and PS4 eras, its an unfortunate thing to hear. Their most recent title, inFAMOUS: Second Son, was reviewed decently and was the best-selling game in the series so far.
Next up, Sucker Punch will release the Second Son DLC First Light at the end of August 2014.
