The fantastically awesome DC comics-based brawler Injustice: Gods Among Men could be set for a sequel according to reports today. The news comes from the website Furious Fanboys, who claim that the news was announced by DC at WonderCon in Anaheim last weekend - but was drowned out by a crowd busy showing its appreciation for a new trailer for the forthcoming Batman: Arkham Knight, with the latter confirmed for release this year (and not slipping into next year as some had reported), and the Injustice sequel likely for 2015.
While information is thin on the ground and these reports have yet to be confirmed by other sources in attendance, it's highly likely that original developer NetherRealm Studios will be in the driving seat once again, thanks to its sterling work on both the original and its rebooted Mortal Kombat franchise.
Speaking of Mortal Kombat, it's thought that NetherRealm is working on a new instalment of that particular series, which may be the reason that an Injustice sequel isn't being tipped for release until towards the end of 2015, but does that mean we'll be seeing another MK title, perhaps towards the end of 2014 or in early 2015? We sure hope so!
