Irishman joins FIFA Interactive World Cup's Group C for Brazilian finals
The world’s best FIFA players have arrived in Brazil for their biggest tournament of the year, as the FIFA Interactive World Cup will conclude this week.

Irishman Adam Johnston will compete in Group C alongside Krasimir Ivanov (Bulgaria), Steven Van De Vorst (Netherlands), and the French duo of Johann Simon and Adrien Viaud. All eyes will be on Group B where current world number one Bruce Grannec occupies a spot, but it’s sure to be a competitive event. The top two players in each group will progress to the quarterfinals.

The tournament takes place over two days, July 2nd and 3rd. The live stream for the first day, which will cover the group stage, will run from 17:00-22:30 BST and is available on YouTube. The knockout phase will take place tomorrow with the stream initially running from 16:00-17:30 and then 20:00-21:30.

The winner of the 2014 FIFA Interactive World Cup will receive $20,000 and get to attend the FIFA Ballon d'Or Gala where they can meet, and potentially play FIFA against, some of the superstars of world football. The silver medallist will take home $5,000 with the third place finisher receiving $1,000.
