Riot Games announced that the League of Legends 2015 World Championship will take place in Europe in October.
In what is sure to be a logistical challenge, the tournament will be held in multiple cities across a number of countries. The venue will change for each round, which includes the group stage, quarter finals, semi finals and final.
Riot isn’t ready to publicly announce its full plan for world domination. The developer is still confirming “venues, timing, format, and more.” Riot will announce more details in the coming months. What we do know is that the tournament will run for a month or so and will adopt the format used for the 2014 Worlds.
2014 Worlds was held at the giant Sangnam World Cup Stadium in Seoul. Samsung White claimed the tournament crown and a share of $1 million with Star Horn Royal Club taking home $250,000 for a 2nd place finish.
