Leisure Suit Larry is set to make a return after achieving its Kickstarter goal of $500,000. The final tally at the end of the fundraiser was $674,037, which hit the extended goal, adding more content and new features. Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards: The 25th Anniversary Edition will be a remake and touch-up of the original 1987 adventure game, Leisure Suit Larry.

A final update from Replay Games Founder Paul Trowe on Kickstarter illustrated the team’s excitement and delight at having met its goal. Trowe posted, “YOU DID IT!!! Nothing could make me more proud right now, you guys!! We promise to give this game the entire 25+ years of experience each one of us veterans has to put all of the culmination of our years of making great games in to this product.”

Many of the backers are to be immortalised in the game in one form thanks to the creative and unique rewards tier structure. You can expect to see backers on the Larrywood Walk of Shame, as a disturbed customer and as drunks as the game progresses.

The title will likely be released in January 2013. The team was targeting October of this year, but decided to add in some new content and dialogue. Leisure Suit Larry will be released on PC, Mac, iPad and Android tablets.
