A 20th Anniversary PlayStation 4 console sold on eBay for a whopping $20,000, but it’s unlikely that the seller will ever receive this windfall.
It appears as though another eBay auction has fallen victim to fake bids being posted. In the 24 hours that the limited edition PlayStation 4 console was on sale, the price shot up from a respectable $0.99 to $25,000. The $25,000 bid was later retracted, leaving the winning bid standing at $20,100.
Fifteen bidders battled over the item with 34 bids submitted in total. A pattern emerges where an automatic bid raises the price by between $40 and $50 before it is beaten by a bid of up to $500 more.
Like eBay sales of devices with the popular Flappy Bird app and rare NES cartridges before it, we believe that this 20th Anniversary PlayStation 4 console will not be changing ownership any time soon. If you did get your hands on this exclusive console, make sure you find it a worthy place in your room.
