Sales manager at online retailer 4Cabling, Okan Kaya, set a Guinness World Record after a marathon Call of Duty: Black Ops II
session that clocked in at over 135 hours. The session took Kaya over a week to complete with his final time reaching 135 hours, 50 minutes. Unsurprisingly, he didn’t play one long uninterrupted session as the Guinness World Record rules allow for a ten-minute break every hour. By skipping some breaks, Kaya was able to accumulate enough time to go for power naps.
Official record breaking attempts are closely monitored. Over the course of his marathon, Kaya was supervised by supporters and witnesses. We can’t recommend prolonged gaming sessions considering the possible health implications, but if you have your heart set on a world record, you should be aware of the task that lies ahead.By the end of the session, Kaya was ranked 37th on Black Ops II’s leaderboard. This begs the questions of how long have the top players been playing for and what have their sessions been clocking in at?
