Man prints 3D models for Pokemon Go explorers

One man is rewarding Pokémon Go explorers in his area by leaving 3D printed models around his hometown.

Matthew Beaman, from Ilfracombe, Devon, has left these models at Pokéstops as an extra reward for people who are getting out and exploring the area. He seems to be a fan of Pokémon Go, or at least what it’s getting players to do. “Everybody seems to be playing it and it’s getting people out of the house and enjoying the weather,” he said.

Rather than just leaving them around the place and hoping that players stumbled upon them, he made it into a bit of a treasure hunt. With a dedicated Facebook group, he dropped hints as to where players could find these models.

“I did one last night and posted a picture of it just to see whether people would respond, and they did, so I thought I would do a few more while I have the time. I know quite a few people who are going out and looking for them. I’ve had people shouting thank you at me in the street.”

Pokémon Go is certainly getting people to be more active and exploring the area, plus people are socialising when out hunting these critters. It’s taken the world by storm and shows no sign of slowing down just yet.
