The Mass Effect series is coming back with a new entry called Andromeda set for early 2017. And now we've got some story details thanks to a leak from a survey.
An EA marketing survey has been leaked which asks how interested you would be in this game based on the following plot description:
"Mass Effect: Andromeda takes players to the Andromeda galaxy, far beyond the Milky Way, where players will lead the fight for a new home in hostile territory - where WE are the aliens - opposed by a deadly indigenous race bent on stopping us. Experience the freedom to traverse and explore a planet-dense but seamless open-world galaxy, rich with discovery. Play as the leader of a squad of military-trained experts in an intense third-person shooter, with deep progression and customisation systems. "This is the story of humanity's next chapter, and player choices throughout the game will ultimately determine our survival in the Andromeda galaxy."
That's quite a lot of information for a game that's at least a year away, giving us plenty of hints about what players will get up to in the new title. The idea of humans as invaders is an interesting one, and could set up some complex moral choices - that's a thing that developer BioWare does very well indeed.
More as we get it.
