Motion capture has become an inreasingly important part of video game development, with an increasingly cinematic presentation demanding more and more realistic animation from games companies.

And in recent years, this trend has changed yet again - with the voice actors increasingly performing their own motion capture work as well, lending real personality to roles like Nathan Drake in Uncharted - fully embodied by star Nolan North.

For Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, Ubisoft is embracing this same attention to detail - using real life stars to bring their incredible characters to life.

This latest video introduces us to three of the main cast; Matt Ryan who voices new hero Edward Kenway, Ralph Ineson who plays Charles Vane and Matt Bonnar - providing the voice and movements of Blackbeard. Check out the video for a look at them in motion capture suits and some words on working with this new technology and story.

There are some nice pieces of information here on the characters here, which we'll hopefully get to find out plenty more of on release. Ryan has mostly appeared on TV up to now, including Torchwood and The Tudors while Bonnar can be seen in DoctorWho and TheBill. Then there's Ineson, who you may recognise from his role asDagmer Cleftjaw in HBO'sGame of Thrones but is also a 20 year veteran of film and TV, including FromHell, First Knight and Harry Potter.

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag is coming to PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii U from the 29th of October in the US and November 1st in Ireland and the UK. The game will also debut on Xbox One and PS4 in November 2013.
