Although neither game proved to be anywhere near as successful as they deserved, it looks as though Deep Silver's Metro franchise (formerly owned by THQ in the pre-bankruptcy fire sale days) is making its way to both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this year as part of a specially reworked double pack.
Reports from Italy are suggesting that the release will be known as Metro Redux, and will feature both games together on a single disc set for launch in July.
With no other sources to go by, it's far from a given that the news is accurate, however it'll certainly be good news to fans of the series who want to get stuck into both games again, albeit with vastly improved visuals more comparable to those found on the higher end PC versions of the game. There's also a good chance that, given the fact that both systems are relatively new, the releases might convince some newcomers to the series to part with their hard earned cash during the traditionally slow summer period.
If you haven't played either game, it's definitely worth keeping an eye on this rumour, because Metro Redux, should it actually be a thing, will most definitely be a must-have for FPS fans!
