Although it has yet to announce a release date for the next major Xbox One update, it looks like Microsoft is doing everything in its power to ensure that it's a big one! The company has just announced a few more additions to the planned patch, and although there's no official confirmation yet that external hard drive support will make it, there are some pretty decent features to be included.
On the entertainment front, the Blu-ray player app will get an update, finally adding 50Hz support, while improving overall functionality, the controller will get a some shiny new firmware, as well as an update being added for the headset adapter, which will decrease noise and improve wireless connectivity for those of you who don't really enjoy getting tangled up in cables.
The big one for us, though, is the ability for the console to automatically update itself if and when an update iss available. There's nothing worse than settling down after a long hard day's work only to find out that you've got to sit around and twiddle your thumbs for half an hour while your Xbox One downloads and installs an update that could've been done and dusted before you got home. Well, that'll be a thing of the past very soon, which is great!
