Naughty Dog Gains a Staffer

Naughty Dog Gains a Staffer
That makes a change for once...

After the last few months saw numerous high ranking staffers jump ship from The Last of Us and Uncharted developer Naughty Dog it's good to see some movement the other way for once. With the likes of Amy Hennig, Justin Richmond and Nate Wells all departing the developer, staff numbers were starting to get a little light at the top end of the spectrum, but the addition of former Ubisoft animation director Jonathan Cooper should help things on that front.

The move was noticed by Game Informer who spotted a change on Cooper's LinkedIn profile. According to the website, Cooper had previously been involved in "prototyping a revolutionary new kind of navigation system for next-gen systems" while employed at Ubisoft Montreal. It's unknown if he was working on the forthcoming Assassin's Creed Unity, however.

There's no information about Cooper's new role on his LinkedIn page right now, beyond the fact that his title is animator, but as he settles into his new role we're sure he'll update that at some stage.

It's good to see some movement in the right direction for Naughty Dog, but despite speculation that there are issues behind closed doors, it's likely that at least some of the recent departures were simply down to the natural ebb and flow of staff within the gaming world, and there's not been anything to suggest anything more sinister going on behind the scenes.

The studio is currently working on a PS4 port of last year's The Last of Us, and an all new Uncharted title, also for the PS4. Expect to hear more about both titles at next month's E3.
