New court motions filed against PopCap Games
MumboJumbo has filed several new court motions against PopCap Games to ensure that it receives the money it is owed. MumboJumbo, a casual games developer, took a case against PopCap in 2010, alleging that the mobile publisher interfered with the developer’s relationship with a major retailer, which lead to a loss in the value of MumboJumbo’s sale price. The overall verdict came to $7.3 million in MumboJumbo’s favor, with both sides currently appealing.

With rumours circulating regarding a potential sale of PopCap, MumboJumbo has filed these court motions to make certain that money changes hands. Attorney Martin Rose of Rose Walker, the firm representing MumboJumbo, said that PopCap must pay its debts. He warned, “Depending on the terms of the reported sale, there may be no assets left in PopCap to satisfy the full judgment, including attorney fees."
