2013's Tomb Raider reboot was a thing of rare beauty. Taking inspiration from just about everything other major third person action title out there, together with the legacy of the lady who basically created the genre, it was a pulse pounding journey complete with incredible gameplay, vicious violence and a halfway decent story.
So the sequel is already highly anticpated. And these new screenshots are just making the wait even worse. The new game sees Lara on her way to taking up the mantle of the bestest Tomb Raider as she teams up with one of the survivors of the last game to go on an epic hunt for loot in Siberia. The images show off this snowy new location which is vastly different from the lush tropics of before, as well as new enemies and an incredible glimpse of the detailed character model. It also looks like they've tweaked the face of the character model to be a little more in line with voice and motion capture performer Camilla Luddington, who also worked on the 2013 reboot.
Here are the shots. They are very pretty.
Rise of the Tomb Raider is coming exclusively to the Xbox One and Xbox 360 in late 2015.
