Some users have been complaining that many of the recent PS4 firmware updates have fixed nothing but minor stability issues. Honestly, we're kind of ok with anything that makes our consoles more stable but the public spoke and Sony has answered.
According to a tweet from the official Sony PlayStation account, an update next week will bring 3D blu-ray playback to the PS4.
The lack of 3D support has always been a bit of a strange one for the PS4. Not only was the blu-ray format created and nurtured by Sony themselves but the now doddery PS3 had no problem outputting in the extra dimension. Still, this is good news for any one who actually has a 3D TV and has been missing the functionality.
There's no official word yet on the rumour that media playback was also set to make its debut on the PS4, it's another feature that the public has been waiting for and who knows, it might sneak into the next update.
PS4 firmware 1.75 will arrive during the week of the 28th of July 2014.
